Hello Friends~ At last nights meeting in Lakewood Jack had mentioned there is a support group at Monmouth Medical Center, I think he said it's run by Dr. Borao, but open to anyone! A friend of mine lives close to there and I forgot which night it is. So, what night does the support group meet @ Monmouth Medical? Thanks Michelle Brennan Brick

Michelle, If you are going to go, please let me know. I missed Thursday night in Lakewood - I had a blood clot scare. My left leg swelled to twice the size of my other leg and I'm 4 weeks post op so the doctor made me go to the emergency room and be checked out. They did not find a blood clot but they have no idea why my left leg is swollen. It now starts around 4:00PM everyday and stays swollen until I wake up the next morning. Just the one leg.... who knows but I would like to go to the Monmouth group. I would love to wish you luck before your surgery too! Donna

Donna~ Sorry about your leg. My father had that same problem after his quintuple bypass last February @ Jersey Shore, but they eventually did find the problem, he had a massive infection. It seems like that isn't your issue though. I hope they find the cause of it soon and get you treated, does it hurt? This month the Monmouth Medical group actually meets the night of my surgery, August 31, so I won't be going there Next month I might be up to it, we will have to play it by ear. I am hoping to be able to make it to the next Lakewood group for sure, that will be 2 weeks to the day after my surgery. That is my goal, but again, I will play it by ear. I hope you are feeling better, please keep us posted. Michelle Brennan

Michelle ..its important to goto a support group near your hospital or the one where your surgery was done... Best.

NOT necessarily, however, it is important to go to A support group. Nannette 340/160
