Insurance denial help?

I was denied because I did not have insurance before I signed up with BCBS in April. I must have had insurance within at least 6 months prior. So I must wait until 1 year after signing up. They said I can appeal but I dont know what ground I would appeal on? If I had insurance I would have had a pre existing clause. Anyone got any ideas?

You need a copy of the policy for review--did they just tell you this or quote it? Sometimes there cannot be pre-exisiting, depends on the circustances. Did you sign up with BCBS on your own or though an employer?

Do you have any co-morbidities?? Use them for an appeal! Write a letter, tell them its not like you are asking for a boob or nose job.....this is weight loss reduction for a healty life...tell them if they would rather pay for the treatment of various illnesses,...never mind, we don't want them to drop you, don't tell them that. Stick with the co-morbidities. Best Wishes!
