Hi Everyone,
My name is Kim. I have been reading posts for a while but this is the first time I am posting. I live in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. I am 35. I am looking into having Roux-en-Y done. I have an appointment with a surgeon, Dr Onopchenko on Monday. I am very excited. I have been researching this for a long time and have been searching for a doctor and hospital to take my insurance (Medicare and Medicaid). Thanks to Nannette, I found Dr. O. Anyone else had him? How did you like him? I have been attending the TR support group for a few months and am going to go to Lakewood this Thursday.

I am Michelle, I am 41 and live in Brick, right next door to you 
I have my RNY surgery scheduled with Dr. Trivedi in Hackensack for August 31'st, just 15 more days. I have been researching for a long time, but just got "permission" from my primary care to meet with the surgeon back in April. That's when I started my journey, the psychiatrist, the nutritionist, the support groups. Last week I completed all my pre-admission testing at Hackensack, it was a breeze! I hope the surgery and hospital stay go as smoothly. I have heard wonderful things about Dr. O too! My friend Sheri is using him, she is going in mid September and having the lap band.
I have been going to the Toms River support group too for a few months. The people there are wonderful, aren't they? I will be at Lakewood this Thursday night, my last group before surgery..... kind of surreal for some reason. I have been going for 3-4 months and MY surgery always seemed so far away, like a dream, and now here it is, my last support group before surgery. It's all good!!!
