3 Month Anniversary
Hi,
Yesterday was my 3 month anniversary and I am down about 47lbs. I just wanted to know if anyone else had a similar experience and how far down were you at that point. I am happy with the results so far, but I feel that it should be more by now. I was hoping to get down to 50 by the 3 month point. So I was close. I am getting better with the water, not so much with the protein but whatever I eat I always try to choose protein first. I'm also doing pretty good with vitamins and I am pleased with that. So, the question is how much weight did everyone have off by the 3 month point??? Am I on track??? Thanks.
PS: I know my surgeon told me it's not a race but I want to know if I'm in the average with the loss so far.
Amy
Hi Amy,
Today is my four month anniversary and I'm done almost 60lbs. I beleive it has a lot to do with the fact that you may be on the lighter side regarding how quickly the weight will come off. When someone is super obese they tend to lose quicker due to the fact that the calorie intake is decrease signficantly. To be quite honest, I'm glad that the weight is coming off at a slower pace as I feel that once I have reached my goal, I will be able to better maintain my weight. I'm also starting to realize that when I excercise more and drink water the weight comes off quicker. So if you're looking to lose more weight in a quicker timeframe, you may want to incorporate excercise if you're not already doing so.
Keep up the good work,
Carla
Hi Amy -- congratulations on the weight loss! Everyone's loss is so personal that it really isn't a good idea to compare others. You may start slower, but maintain your weight loss more consistently than others, while others may lose lots of first, than suffer thru frustrating plateaus.
Keep up the protein and the water, and exericse. It will come off if you do - I promise.
Hope you can make Thursday's meeting of OCWLS in Lakewood this week. It is Aug 17th at 7pm at Kimball Medical's Center for Healthy Living, 198 Prospect St.
Hugs,
Nannette
Congratulations, Amy... WELL DONE!! Did you have your lab work done for the 3 month anniversary? That is the true barometer of how you are healing and adjusting to your newly build body. The weight loss, the shrinking woman, the great energy and feeling of wellness are bonuses. You are doing great. ShelleyAnne
