Hi All: I noticed on some of you that you went through this insurance company. I currently have it and was wondering what the oxford liberty plan requires and how long it took before you were approved? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. thank you charlene

Dr. Bilof has done my surgery which was done on 04/12/06 and I've lost almost 60lbs. In regards to the approval process with Oxford, each insurance plan is different. Most insurance companies require a 6 month medically supervised diet by your physician before they would consider covering the procedure. You should call Oxford directly to get details for weight loss surgery. Once you have met the requirements, it could take days or even weeks for approval. It will all depend if the insurance carrier has received all of the require documentation. Sometimes there can be delays so be prepared. Good luck on your journey, Carla

I had Oxford Liberty. I was approved w/n 2 days. No 6 month diet. No co-mobidities. Only paid $20 co pay.
