Hi again: I am a light smoker 1 pack in 2 days. Did anyone here smoke then asked to quit. I understand it slows the healing process and I do intend on quitting, but i just wanted to see how you did..The last time I quit I gained 30lbs in 45 days.. Don't want that to happen again.... thanks for the help & support. charlene

Hi Charlene, I'm not a smoker, but I did see where there is a new drug that is coming onto the market to help smokers quit, without having to gain weight. You should talk to your PCP or surgeon regarding how the drug works and if it is right for you.

Charlene: I've never been a smoker, so I can't help you there. I just wanted to say that Michael Nusbaum was my surgeon & he and Dr Bilof are *the best*. You are in *fabulous* hands. Good luck on your journey! P~ http://www.weightlossnj.com - my story

I smoked for over 20 years and the only way to do it is cold turkey, I did it for health reasons I was always gasping for air. I quit 03-22-1999. I haven't picked one up yet. Keep yourself busy suck on mints or chew gum, good luck.
