I am home

Finally I am home it was a bumpy ride but wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, I need to get rid of this gas and I'll be a happy person I am going to try and lie in my bed talk to you all soon

Hi rebecca, Welcome home! Glad to hear it wasn't so bad! I am having my surgery on 7/25...(in two days) at Hackensack University Medical Center also, but with Dr. Ballantyne. I also thought the hospital was very nice when I went for my pre-op testing. Any words of wisdom about the hospital or the staff that I should know. It's always nice to hear it from someone who has been there. I have read that they have an entire floor for bariatric surgery patients...is this true? Did you have a roomate or a private room? I would appreciate any info that you can give me so I will have an idea of what to expect. Feel good, and I'll see ya on the losing side soon enough!! Jill

Welcome home Rebecca. I am also having my surgery at Hackensack and Dr.Ballantyne is my choice. 8-1-06 at 12p.m.. Hope your feeling better with the gasssssssssssssss!!!!! What did you take to wear? Like Jill please share any info that you can. God Bless Pat Carros -Wall N.J.

the first day I wore the gowns they had there the 2nd day I took a shower and put my own pj's on and the rest of the time I wore my own clothes good luck, I have a friend having the surgery the same day maybe if I am feeling up to it i'll come visit the both of u

hi Jill, yes they have a floor just for the WLS patients, I have a latex allergy and I had my own private room, it was small but it was nice having my own room, the staff was great on the 7-3 shifts all the days I was there the first 3-11 and 11-7 the aides weren't that good didn't ask if I needed help or anything the other 2 nights they were great, just remember to get up and walk and u will do fine
