Scheduled Surgery Date......

Well, I scheduled the surgery....just two weeks away....August 1st! I am very excited and nervous...please pray for me. I keep reading that everyone is on a liquid diet before, but I was not instructed to do that. Can someone tell me what kind of liquid diet they do? Good luck to everyone! Pat Carros - Wall, N.J.

HI Pat, Good luck to you. I hope it is nice & easy. Everyone get's worried. I have not even recived my approval and i am nervous. It will all work out in the end.

Some surgeons recommend a liquid diet - some don't. Mine did not either. If yours didn't, don't worry about it - but the two days before surgery, eat lightly - don't wait till then to have "the last supper" that we all seem to indulge in! Good luck - who is your surgeon? Nannette

Hello Nannette,my surgeon is Dr.Ballantyne.They called me today and told me my insurance company wants a letter from my Dr. which does not like to write letters. He gave me a note . And he is on vacation until the 24th.I am supposed to see him on the 25th. My surgery is on Aug 1st. So you see I am a bit upset. I also work for the insurance company. Your story was the very first one I read when I stared to look into WLS. It really touched my heart. Good luck on your new life Nannette. Pat carros

hi pat my husband didn't have a liquid diet -- dont' worry about it -- i have a list of foods for stage 1 & 2 that is on Excel if you would like it -- it gives the name of food, amount, calories, sugar and protein -- just send me your email address you will be fine [email protected] hugs roberta

Hello,thank you for the list your sending me. My surgeon does not want me to drink protein drinks either. Just broth,water,juice and few other things.Do not have the list with me right now. I'm starting to get really nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My email is [email protected]. Dr.Ballantyne is my doctor he leads the bariatric department at Hackensack Hospital.When did you have your wls done? What support group do you both attend? I wanted to go to Lakewood last night but was so tired. I work at Blue Cross in Wall start time is 6a.m. so I get up around 4.30a.m. It's a long day.
