Hospital Roomates?
I never thought about this until I was reading about a couple of you guys going in the same time at the same hospital - what kind of roomates do you get? Do they try to put you with other gastric bypass patients, or will I end up in a room with some old lady with a flatulence problem? Oh goodness - I hate the thought of sharing a room with someone I don't know, especially if I feel like crap!!
hi anna
at that point you won't even care!! you'll be so medicated that you won't know if it's male or female
my husband got a guy in his 50's who was there for 3 months -- nice guy but couldnt' breathe right -- pull the curtain and ya won't even know who is beside ya
the first person my husband met (tho he don't remember much) was the guy with the books and newspaper cart who had WLS and went from 500 down to 180 and was done with his PS and all -- 2nd person was the nurse who discharged him and she lost 100 from february til may due to WLS -- so it was nice to hear the do's and don'ts in the hospital from ppl who have been there
and michelle don't wanna be my neighbor
she's going to her neices party instead -- i'll get her later ;)
take care

Hi Anna,
My roommate was an older women (not sure why she was there). She was very nice kept asking if I was okay and if I needed anything. But the funny part is that here I am sharing a room with her and could not even have water the first day and she has everything from Oreos to Chips Ahoy, and a slue of different candy. Everytime a doctor or nurse came in she offered them candy. They should take this kind of stuff into consideration. Overall though the hospital stay was okay. Good luck on your surgery.
