Sakeenah~ I did Nutrisystem as recently as last September. Other than being very expensive, if you JUST eat what they send you in your box each month-you will do great. I didn't do so well because I go out to eat often and I was always skipping my Nutrisystem meal and having a grilled chicken sandwhich at Famous Daves. That didn't work too well. I think in the month that I did it, I lost about 14 pounds. The food is good, you get to choose your meals for each day. The best thing to me was the pizza, that is the most normal tasting food in my box anyway. The chocolate pudding tastes great too. DON'T order the chocolate fudge cake-it's like a 2X3 block of sandpaper! It's awful, you will gag on it, even my dog wouldn't have anything to do with it. Their food is very high in fiber, they manage to squeeze a lot of fiber in everything, and I think lap banders are supposed to limit fiber--definitely check into that before you order anything. It's also sugar controlled, which was good for me, I am a sugar junkie. I think I have told you everything I know, please let me know if you need help with the menu choices if you do go for it. I have tried it all. I have another months supply in the garage in a big brown box..... I really need to use it up! Good luck, whatever you choose to do. Michelle

I've been on NutriSystem twice. The first time, I was really motivated, as I was getting married. My husband and I did it together, and each lost about 30 - 40 pounds. That was back when you had to go to the centers, and weigh in with a counselor. We also tried it earlier this year. When WW failed for me yet AGAIN, I fell back on NutriSystem. Some of the food is disgusting, but some of it isn't any worse than a Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine meal. You still have to add your own salad, fruits, vegetables and yogurts. The lunches are really awful, but breakfast is cereal, pancakes, granola bars - nothing too terrible (although I end up hungry - use your morning fruit with your cereal to help make it feel like more of a breakfast), and dinners really aren't all that bad. I hope that helps!

Personally, if I were to go on a 'diet' to help with the band (not having the band, but read quite a bit on it), I'd suggest Weigh****chers. That way, you can eat normal foods, adapt in restaurants, etc. I'd like to suggest you post also to the lap band forum here at obesityhelp - it's a very active and friendly board and I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses to your questions. You can find it by clicking the forums tab up top and then choose Lap Band from the Surgery Types Forums list. Best of luck in your endeavors! And you are MOST welcome to continue posting on other boards, as well - just that you'll find more of those with your surgery type on the other forum. ~Tooter OH Staff
