Any support groups in South Jersey

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know if there are any support groups in South Jersey? I am having my surgery at the Barix Clincs in Langhorne PA and the people there are wonderful but it is far for me to go in traffic on I-95 because the meeting are at 7pm so I was hoping to go somewhere closer to home. Don't know if you would call in South Jersey, but the Ocean County WLS (OCWLS) group meet in Toms River and in Lakewood, first Friday of the month and the third Thursday of the month, respectively. Contact me if you need more information. Nannette

Hi! I'm new to this forum and to WLS in general. I met w/Dr. Washington about the WLS but didn't have a good feeling for him; is anyone welcome to attend the OCWLS group or do you have to be referred/have a specific doctor already? Hi Mae, I am not sure where exactly you are, but there is a great meeting in Vineland,NJ. We are about 30 minutes from Phila. The meeting is at the Fitness Connection/South Jersey Regional Medical Center. The 4th Wednesday of every month at 7pm. It is right off of route 55, really easy to get to. The phone number for the fitness connection is 856-696-3924, they could give you better directions from exactly where you are. I hope this helps. Shaun

Hi, Mae!! I went to the meeting Friday night in Pitman, and the folks there were phenomenal! They were all so kind, so helpful, and answered a ton of questions for me. I wish I could go to the next meeting, but I'll be in Florida. I plan to go to the following one though - which is the same week as my surgery. I was nervous about going and meeting new people, but I can honestly say everyone there was great. It's a small, warm, and welcoming group. Anna
