Gastroenterologist Help :-(

Okay, 3 weeks ago, I phoned a GI doc that my PCP recommended. I explained what I needed and the time constraints I was facing (have to have all my paperwork in order by July 17th for my PCP and then on to the surgeon by July 28). At first, they told me there was no way they could fit me in, but then she checked with the doctor and I was scheduled for a consult on July 3rd, and the EGD (which is what I need done) on the 5th. Yesterday, they phoned me to confirm my appointment on the 3rd. I mentioned that I am having the procedure done on the 5th, but have no instructions, and they told me they didn't put me on the schedule for the 5th and now they are booked!! She said all I could do was talk to the doctor and see if there is anyway he can squeeze me in somewhere in time, but he wasn't in yesterday to talk to. I'm fuming mad - my husband is taking off, I arranged baby sitters for my kids, and I can't believe they did this. I phoned 3 other GI doctors yesterday, but none of them can fit me in within the time frame. Okay, who has a brother in law that's a GI doctor? A hairdresser who's sister is married to a guy who's cousin is one? A close personal relationship with one because your daughter sold them girl scout cookies? If this doctor can't squeeze me in, it looks like I won't have all of my stuff done in time for my surgery Anna

my gastro doc is Dr. Peter Plumeri -- 856-218-0200 -- he is AWESOME!!!!! but, he is only in the office on mon & wed -- and does procedures on tues & thur -- his girl Tina is really really sweet -- he's over in Sewell next to Kennedy Hosp -- hope this helps Roberta

Thank you guys, for your help! I met with Dr. Alloy this morning - the doctor I was referred to - and he promptly insisted that I be put on his schedule for Wednesday. His receptionist was nice in the beginning, but when the doctor walked me out and told her there was no reason I couldn't be done on Wednesday, she got all snooty. I'm so glad to have this worry off of my back! Now I have to go get blood work, an EKG and a chest x-ray. I know I can get that done at the hospital - I just have to wait. Fortunately, my hubby is on vacation this week and said he'd watch the kids for whatever I have to do Thanks again! Anna
