Giant step backwards!

Called today for appointment with Dr Numan. Was told by office that he does not participate with any insurance companies. They will only fill out insurance forms so you can be reimbursed. That is ok but not for horizon bcbs Hmo. So I am back to Square one. My next try will be with Dr. abkin. Sooooooooo disapointed!!!! You think someone would have mentioned that at the seminar last night??? Has anyone used Dr Abkin and Morristown mem Hosp. ?

Byvonne~ I couldn't agree more with you. That small detail should have been mentioned at the seminar or even before the seminar, that is a major issue for everyone. Good luck with your journey, it can only get better! Michelle

Dr. Abkin and his partner Dr. Bertha are awesome. My BF had his surgery on June 5th with Bertha and they are awesome. You will be in great hands and Josephine in the office is an insurance wiz! She filed all of our paperwork for us. We did not have to do anything but confirm with one phone call at the end. It was wonderful. Godd luck in your journey. Morristown mem was great too!

I don't know a Dr Numan.. have you tried Dr Garrison at St Michael's in Newark. They are great there and really ontop of the insurance game. I had lots of difficulty and they straightened it out for me.. I had my surgery at St Claires in Denville by this doc and think the world of him.

yES I HAVE ATTENDED ASEMINAR AT ST MICHAELS, DR GARRISON WAS THERE. I AGREE THAT HE IS GREAT DOCTOR BUT I THOUGHT THAT HIS EXPERTEZE WAS RNY TRADITIONAL METHOD. I HAD THE UNDERSTANDING THAT HE WAS NOT AS EXPERIENCED IN LAPROSC LAB BAND SURGERY. IF I AM WRONG PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANKS BYVONNE

Hi Byvonne, Dr Jean-Baptiste is not too far from you. He has extremely good outcomes and his team is excellent.You won't be disappointed. I had gastric bypass with him ,went home the following day.Absolutely no problems. Fantastic team to have on your side!(908) 226-4200.

Thanks ladies for the support. Called dr abkins office today and was given a seminar date of 7/27/06 at 8 oclock. The old mill inn in basking ridge nj. I will be there.!!!! I hope there are no other surprises. If so, I will jump over and keep going. Your friend in the fight byvonne
