Hi My name is Mae and finally after almost 1 1/2 years waiting I am finally having my surgery Monday July 17th . I am so excited but also very nervous. I am having my surgery at Barix Clinics in Langhorne PA with Dr. Marymor I am in real need of some support I have tremendous support from my husband and my family and friends but they donnot know what I am going through or how I feel. I am looking for a support group that I could attend meetings in my area I live in Erial (sicklerville) NJ. Can someone out there help me?

hi there, and welcome to the board. congrats on your uncoming date.... i go to a support group in toms river new jersey. its the first friday of every month. if u are interested, let me know... it may be toooooo far but if not i am sure u can find something closer good luck....

I am surprised Barix Center has provided you some info regarding groups thru them .. support is sooooo important... I wont' even mention the ones I go to because they would be way too far for you... Best wishes for a successfull journey

Hi, Mae My name is Anna, and I'm scheduled for my surgery on August 1st. There is a support group that meets in a Church in Pitman. I am going to get to my first meeting one of these days - I keep having conflicts! They meet every other Friday - and I think next Friday (the first Friday in July) is the next meeting. I live in Bellmawr - so not far from you at all! We'll be going through this together almost!! Anna

Hi Ross and Roberta Did you have your surgerys yet? Do you attend meetings? If so where? They have support meetings at Barix but I was looking for somewhere closer.I have a friend who is having surgery July 21st with Dr. Kirkland . She attends meetings at the Pennsylvania hospital. I was hoping there was meeting somewhere in our area.

hi mabel we did the 2 support meetings last october when we started on this ride of our lives!! Ross had surgery 5/22/06 and is down 52 lbs Roberta will have surgery 10/9/06 right now Friday is a very bad day for me to go to support meetings -- but when i'm done with my medical treatments then we'll be there!!! take care roberta oh btw -- ross was in surgery for 25 minutes with Kirkland -- 4 hours recovery tho
