Question about my holes

Hello Everyone... I'm more a lurker but have found out tons of info while reading all the posts and that I am forever grateful. I had my surgery 6/13 and yesterday I had the stitches out and I have come to find out the one has an infection in it. Well needless to say I asked how this could happen since I was so careful with all the holes. Dr. Koren said that he's only seen this maybe once or so before me. Leave it to me to be the one it happens to, but now I feel I'm back at square one with pain. He told me it should heal up in about 2 weeks but moving around or trying to lay down feels like it did the day after surgery when I was supposed to be up and walking around. Just reaching for anything hurts. I'm not much of a whimp but the rest of the body is doing rather well but this one spot puts a stop to a lot of things. Has anyone had any kind of problem before?? or am I the only one which would figure with my luck......... Tracie 403/396/200

Hi Tracy Your no wimp ! Give yourself permission to take it easy, let your body heal. When you have an infection... its like your under attack and the enemy is the infection, the battle field is your body, and each day is another battle. Been there, done that, read the book, saw the film... yada yada. 5 months out tracy I accidently took too much Calcium Citrate, I was a bachelor, and I thought it tasted good, so I took ( I know I know.. pretty silly) 6 or 8 tablets of chewable calcium citrate in a 30 hour period. I didnt know that you could get too much and cause problems. YEOW. Almost ten days I could not use the restroom. Talk about pressure, and pain. Part way through I remember thinking "I am not exercising, I am not walking, I am not doing my part". But I had to let the situation run its course. Right now... take a deep breath.. and r-e-l-a-x. Post on the board, rest easy, and work to stay upbeat until your "war" with your body is over, and you HEAL. There will be plenty of time for everything else. Trust me it will get better, your not the only one that has had complications from the laproscopic proceedure. I had a small infection around my drain, but it was really small and mostly on the surface and it cleared up after a couple days. Again... take it easy.. know your not alone.... post when you can here and let us know how your doing and progressing.. okay? And remember to tell yourself "this too shall pass and I will be able to really go to town after the infection clears up". Hang in there Hugs and God bless Timmy Ray : )))

Hi Timmy Thank you so much for your words of wisdom. I have to keep reminding myself it's only been a week or so slow down. But when you feel much better than you have in ages you can't help but want to do more. My dumb thing I do is reach for something not realizing if I pick it up using the stomach mucles that are really sore and near the infected area it hurts like there is no tomorrow. BUT I remember while I'm swearing at myself for doing the dumb thing again. OK I'll take an oath......AHEM........actually I should staple this to my forehead.... RELAX......This to shall pass.......ommmm.....ommm.....RELAX..........ommmm.... Give yourslef time to heal........ Ommmmm.....watch Cash Cab......ommmmm...... Timmy Ray I love to read your postings for some reason it puts a smile on my face.... Thank you Tracie
