I have finally gotten a date!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I finally have a date, it is July 26, 5 weeks from tomorrow. I changed surgeons and now I am going to Dr. Bilof,who I really liked. His office is very prompt in getting things done and told me today that I have a date.

Excellent Toni.. congratulations ! I am so excited for you. It (the time) will pass quickly and I think its fantastic.. great news !! Please let us know here on the board as you know more? If you need any questions answered, please pose them loudly and we will do our best to share what we (collectively : P ) have learned, hopefully we can help if you do have questions. My life has changed SO much Toni from the surgery, I know you wont be sorry and that you are about to begin a tremendous new chapter in your life. If you need someone to chat to in email or on the phone, please dont hesitate to let us know? Support and encouragement are vital to help you realize that your not alone in this, that a lot of us have been there and are going through the same process. I have a list of ladies from our support group, several are in your area, and all of them would be pumped to drop you a letter via email or even call. Or, anyone that posts here would likely rap with you , just feel free to click email on any of the names and strike up a conversation if you want? Be encouraged, that is fantastic ! Congratulations!!!! I have my surgery on June 26th (just 5 days away) I am having the lap band procedure by Dr Davis in Ridgewood NJ. I live in Bergen County. Which surgery are you having?

I am having lap RNY. I still have to have an endoscopy (July 10) and get cardiac clearance (July 11) and then PAT and I am done.

Toni! CONGRATULATIONS on getting a date! My date is July 27, but I have to postpone, we are going on a cruise exactly one week after that, and I don't think I will be mentally ready for a cruise that soon after surgery. BUT.... I am so HAPPY you are getting surgery done with so soon! I have a question for those who have had surgery. Does everyone have to get an endoscopy before surgery? It's not on my PAT list that the surgeon gave me. I have BCBS for insurance, maybe it depends on who your insurer is? Just curious..... Michelle in Brick

Toni~ Michelle again I just saw your last name and remembered that I had a teacher at Wall Intermediate School back in 1979, his name was Mr. Scanlan. I am wondering if you might be related? just curious...... Michelle in Brick PS--will you be joining us at the next support group meeting July 7, from 7-9 at Community Medical Center? I can drive if you'd like We can meet somewhere near me and go from there, maybe Target in Brick? let me know....the support group would be great for you!

Michelle- yes I will be going to the support group in T.R. I have been attending that one since last November, but missed the last 2 meetings.I will let you know about carpooling, usually my husband comes with me, and yes your Mr. Scanlan is my husband,John.Talk about a small world...

Toni~ That is too funny, your husband taught me about 25 years ago! Is he still teaching at Wall? My maiden name was Surgent, I am sure he might remember a few of us, lots of us went through the Wall Schools Anyway, if you need a ride for the group at Community, just hollar, we can meet at Target (my favorite place) and I can drive from there.
