Lap Band Surgeon in NJ or NY
Hi
I just had surgery on 05/24/05 with DR Vadim Gritsus from Lincoln Park,NJ . I have to say that I am already at work today and feeling fine. The srugery went well and
I am very happy with him and his team. Too bad I didn't find him sooner.
Try to go to one of his seminars , he is very informative and he leaves the decision up to you on what procedure you want done. Good Luck .

I live in Middlesex County, but was in Staten Island for 8 yrs before that. My laparoscopic lap band surgery was performed on 5/3/06. My surgeon was Dr. George Ferzli in Staten Island. He is excellent. I have a friend who went to the same surgeon group as Nannette (Drs. McMullen (F), Nicastro and can't remember the other's name) and she highly recommends them. They do their surgeries at Staten Island University Hospital. I understand they are excellent too.
Dr. Ferzli's office staff got me approved in about a week on the first try. I had to be cleared by 5 diff doctors (I understand all the good surgeons do require this): a gastroenterologist, cardiologist, pulmonary specialist, psychiatrist, and of course, your primary and a nutritionist is on staff along with a psychiatrist or psychologist. If you are over 50, you have to have a colonoscopy. I think that is about it.
Check them out.
Yours, June
Hello VV, and welcome to the NJ board ~~!!
I didnt have the lap band, but I did have the RNY surgery. Have you considered the RNY type? Its a definite possible option, I considered the Lap band, but it took too much willpower and had more things that could be affected by my behavior , the RNY was more radical but the weight loss is faster, there was less prone to self sabotage, and it just was a better fit for me?
If you do get surgery, either Lap band or RNY, godspeed my friend : ) We have a great bunch of folks, some of which that frequent the NJ board here, that meet for support and fellowship.
Our Group, We meet the first Friday each month in Toms River, at Community Hospital at 7pm,and in Lakewood NJ at Center for Healthy Living (on Kimball Medical Center grounds) also at 7pm, but on the third THURSDAY each month.
Anyway.. very nice to meet you..... be encouraged, and Godspeed in your search for surgery and the whole bariatric process. If you have any questions or need help, or have concerns and need to know where to go for answers, feel free to email any of us here on the board.. we would be glad to help you in any way we can.
Have a super day : )
