Hi everyone Words cannot express how much the support and encourangement I have recieved from my OH family means to me. My Angel Teru was sent by God. I came home from the hospital on Friday after a difficult fight for my life. I had my surgery on the 27th of April all went well, then 2 days afterwards I noticed a pain in my right hip that didnt seem like a gas pain. I went to the ER the Monday after surgery and they did a CT Scan and found a BIG blood clot being held in place in my vena cava. Prior to surgery my surgeon put a filter that opens up in the vena cava vein like a upsided umbrella so that it can grab on to bloodclots and hold it in place so it doesnt travel to heart, lungs etc. I was admitted and two days afterwards they tried whats called a thrombolyces to break up the clots and flu**** out from under the filter. During this procedure, my kidney failed, great bloodloss, got blood transfusion, Internal bleeding. I stayed in ICU unable to move for 4 days because they had the cather tube things in the vein in my legs and lower ab and the other things. I couldn't walk when it was time to leave ICU and a few days after that. I am still unsteady but using a walker. I am doing much much better now that I am home. My kidney is repairing itself and I wont need dialysis, as for the clot I start a blood thinner and was told the clot will reabsorb itself. I had faith in God and he saw me through. I thank God for taking me through it and for giving my mother the strength to be by myside. I need alittle help with how to get in my water, it just doesnt taste the same anymore any ideas?

Hey big, I am so sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time. And I`m glad you are here with us to let us know how you are doing now.Keep up the healing and believing in the big guy and all will be well. As for water I still don`t get all that I need and they say that is to be expected for now but, I do find it much easier drinking crystal light iced tea rather than plain water. Good luck!

Glad to see you are home and healing....Yes Teru was sent by GOD..she had OH and BAF working and praying for you to no end. Its always best to keep your faith in the hard times....and as you see he brought you through it and it will only get better as the times go on. As for getting in the water just drink when ever you think about sip, sip, sip, and if your not liking the taste of water try any sugar free drink that is made with water like crystal light, sugar free koolaid, wylers lights. Also dont fret about it so much your still early out and it will get easier, especially when you find something that you like and enjoy drinking.....but just drink all day and since you are probably on a liquid diet any way that should be pretty easy...and always keep a water bottle with you at all times. I am glad to see you home and posting...good luck on your recovery....and welcome to the losing side. Tyshea-Remember only you can make you happy 315/162/150

I am soooo glad that you listened to your body and went to the hospital when you did. I had my surgery on 04/12/06 and besides some gas and other minor things everything went well. After hearing your story my little issues don't compare to what you have gone through. It's good to hear you are home as hospitals can be depressing and you probably recover better. As far as water is concerned, I'm still trying to get in my 48 ozs a day, but it is hard. It will get better as time goes by. Best Wishes, Carla
