That is encouraging; if I can make it through the first 3 days........ I am a little cranky tonight; good thing my family had somewhere else to go. LOL Your surgery is coming up very soon! Good luck to you.

I started my two week pre-op diet today. That means two weeks from today I will be having my surgery. I am one day into this diet, and so far so good. I am doing optifas****er, crystal light, lettuce and raw veggies. Tonight I may "TREAT" myself and have some chicken broth.
My head hunger is in tow, at least for today.

Hi
What they typically say at the Support Group meetings is that it is about two months from the approval date to the date of surgery.
That being said, that was true for me. My approval date was April 23rd, which is the same day they scheduled my surgery (July 2nd). My neighbor is also having surgery, same doctor as me (Monson), but she just got her approval last week, and she could have had surgery July 2nd. So, I guess it depends how long it takes from approval time.
As far as the insurance, they told me approximately 2 weeks. Mine was 2 weeks to the day.
Good Luck

Hi Loretta: the day the office told me they faxed it to BCBS MN, it showed up as received at the insurance about 2 days later, and I got a response 7 or 8 days after they got it.
Could you call the insurance person for Garcia and politely ask her to fax it again since it is not showing up?
good luck, judi

LMAO...I was like...who's Jack?? Yah, not the brightest bulb in the box somedays..hahaa Good Luck with your surgery, that is sooooo exciting!! Some days I wish my husband was overweight, just for a day so he knew what I went through. Of course he isn't and probably never will be. I'm glad you have your husbands support, how nice to go through it with someone who knows exactly what your talking about and feeling. My husband is more like, why don't you just eat bread and water...lol...yes, he's still breathing but hasn't brought that silly thought up again :)
I too love MeritCare!
Thanks for the "hijack" Its nice to hear from someone so close and that is going to have the same Dr.

hijack: good luck with your consult danni. Dr Howell is doing my surgery next Tuesday and he did my husband's one year ago. He has been dead on accurate with everything he has told my hub.
I feel that the group at Meritcare is the best in the area.
good luck! judi j
