2 Month Post-op Update w/ PIC!
Hey All!
I realized I hadn't post on the ND forum since surgery! As of today, since it's flippin' midnight I need to go to bed, I am 2 months post op from VSG. I'll tell you I've had my moments of asking myself if the surgery is even working... but then I forward and when I look back I can clearly see it is!!!
As of today I have lost 60lbs, 35 since surgery. At time I feel I'm loosing slower than others who started out at my weight, but I'm ok with that. I've said this on other forums that my mom had to remind me "Kelby, you didn't put your weight on over night, you can't expect it to come off that fast" She's right.
Eating is pretty easy for me. I try to avoid carbs like bread, pasta, rice.. I have eating the Delite crust pizza from Papa Murphy's, a toritlla shell, and part of a pita from PIta Pit. I can live with out them though.. I did try a bite of whole wheat toast and I'll ya what... THAT DID NOT SIT WELL. I also tried a little bite of a wheat thin bun and thought it was gross... Must be something with wheat.
Any ways.. Here is a comparison photo of myself preop and today.

Kelby,
Your looking wonderful, I can see it in your face.
Remember you are an "Individual" and you will do things your way and at your pace. There is no right or wrong pace. Never compare yourself to others, just be you!
Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress.

Hey there,
Congrats on your weight loss so far! That's great!
Anyway, I too cannot eat bread. I've tried it 3 times so far and everytime it has always felt like as if it was stuck in my chest all day, the most miserable feeling ever. I loved my bread before surgery, but the way it makes me feel, it don't even bother me that I can't eat it. I'd rather feel good than have that stuck feeling.
I think you've had a great loss so far. I have one sister who had the surgery 3 months before me & one who had the surgery a month after me, and I cannot believe how much different all 3 of us are. Some days, I do try to compare myself with them & I get discouraged, but then I think...we're 3 different people. Ya know? We're all losing at a different pace, but the thing is...we're becoming more healthy everyday and that's all that matters. :) It's crazy, but I can't quit saying how much this surgery has already changed my life in just the 4 months! It really has. It really is a great thing.
Anywho, congrats again & I wish you continued success! :)
