BCBS ND insurance info - 3 day approval

I just got approval for the vertical sleeve from BCBS ND (ND PERS State Employee ins. PPO). Mid-Dakota Clinic in Bismarck is in a pilot program with BCBS and seem to really have a handle on getting approvals easily and quickly. I live in Minot, and it was worth the 100 mile drive. My surgery date 7/14/10. Woo!

PS- What do you do for exercise in the winter?

First off- Congrats! Your life will change in so many ways. I hope you grab it by the arse (that you will loose) and enjoy all of the journey.

The insurance approvals and different types of surgeries covered will change more and more as time marches on, it has to. People want more and more, we want better options, we want better health, Let's face it we want it all! and were a society of instant gratification, so chop chop people give it to us NOW. LOL

In winter I take my exercise inside. Not much different, I just hit the gym and make use of my memberships and the machines. Once spring hits I am ready to hit the streets again. Each yr I have walked a 5K in spring and this Year I also walked the Fargo Half Marathon. You will not believe until you live it the amount of energy,confidence,self esteem and vigor you will gain after surgery,Like I said your life will never be the same.

Donna,

Congratulations on taking this step to a new life!  I just had my surgery in March so I have not actually had any winter exercise.  Having said that, I will continue to do the following in the winter:

1.  Work out at the gym
2.  Walk outside if it is not too cold.
3.  Do pilates at home
4.  Walk at the mall

Some people have equipment at home or a Wii fit.  By this winter, you will have an idea of what you want to do.

Keep asking questions and coming to this site.  You will do great!!

I workout indoors whether it be walking at the mall, going to the gym to lift weights or do aerobic exercise (kick boxing, personal trainer, treadmill, etc.)  Some people also go swimming.
