I think you have great intentions so that people realize what life might be like after RNY, but a Duodenal Switch does not have the side effects - any of them - that you experience. I didn't even know it existed when I decided to get WLS, but am completely grateful that I found out about it. Please mention the possibility to others if they're considering WLS b/c it's a wonderful option. The duodenal switch also has a higher % of excess weight loss in the immediate years following surgery & a MUCH lower rate of regain at 10 years post-op. These are all averages, of course, & everyone is different, but more people will have higher long-term success with the duodenal switch than the RNY in terms of weight loss while still being able to eat a reasonable amount of food with no dumping symptoms ever.
