Ice cream, ice cream, get your ice cream...

I have by total accident found a new way to make Ice cream today. I thought I would share this with everyone and see what you think.   I first dug out the old ice cream maker from the lower (floor level) cupboard. When I say old I am talking around 1989. It is the one you have to use salt, ice and water with. It is electric.   I need to make a double batch as I am having company tonight and want to share. My mom taught me to share at a young age LOL   I put all of the items into the container (eggface’s recipe- dreamsicle). Go to snap the lid on to finish the set up of this wonderful machine. This is where I changed a bit of the ice cream process. I was not strong enough to snap the lid on (turn and snap). I braved it next door, carrying the said container, the ingredients are slopping around. I knock. NO one home, just my luck! I start back home and notice over at the community office, they are in! I walk over there; surely someone will have the power to help with this! It is the wife in the office. It took both of us to try and get this lid snapped in place, one twisted while the other held it in place. To no avail. Finally in giving up I give the lid a good whack. Yes, you guessed it! LOL no you didn’t! The tab thingy that was to SNAP shut the lid, broke off!   Back home I went with the handicapped container, Duct taped the lid on!! Set up the whole machine thing. Plug it in and lordy lordy, it is loud as can be. Hasn’t been run in ages. I let it run a good half hour. I go check things out to find out the paddle inside had not been moving, just the container!! I still have soup at this point.   I take it apart, smack it back together and start over. Half hr later I have soft serve ice cream. The ice cream maker is now in the trashcan along with all the books.   Note: this is a way to get in extra exercise, but not the way to make ice cream. Something that easy should not be so hard to do LOL

Hope someone got a chuckle out of this, I know I did. It was all so unbelievable I had to laugh.
