I was also going to ask if anyone has been seen by Dr. Tunde, or have heard of anything about him!!

I have heard alot of good things about Dr. Bruderer. I wish I was closer to go there but the "gas"/drive is just to much with all the appointments. Good Luck on your search. Keep me posted on your journey, and how things are going!! I am getting the open bypass. Alittle nervous but I am READY!!!

I am from Bismarck and was banded in late August of 2007. I had Dr. Schmit with Mid Dakota. The surgery was uneventful and I recovered quickly. I would do it again.
I wish you the best of luck.
Hi there!
Welcome to Minot!! I also am on this WLS journey...been researching online and went to a seminar with Dr Bruderer. Just now starting the paperwork process so we'll see where it takes me. I read your profile and totally am with you on the hubby issue...I feel the same way! I dont know much about your Dr but I have heard of him. I think they call him just Dr Tunde...last name too hard for the average person to pronounce!! The only thing I didnt like about here in Minot for surgery is that from what I know they only do the open procedure...not laproscopic. Other than that, I know many people who have had it done here with great results. Best of luck to you!! Email me anytime!!:o)

Hi, I did get your message...I have heard good things about Dr. Tunde but they only do it Open in Minot. If you were looking to have it done Lapriscopically you'll have to go to Bismarck. I had Dr. Kavlie and he was amazing and I am from Minot too. Will you be making it to the Gastric Bypass meeting? it is the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Skyway Cafe. Sorry I didn't reply sooner I am recovering from a tonsillectomy OUCH anyway hehe, we'll have to catch up sometime.
I decided to go ahead and go through Dr Tunde....I am glad to hear that some one has heard good things about him!! I didnt want to wait another 3-4 months going through Bismark!! I had a surgery date with in 3 weeks with Dr Tunde, only because I have already done most of the pre-op testing because Ive been trying to have this done for about 4years.... I am going to the meeting on Tues are you going to be there!!

I'm not sure. I have another thing planned that evening. But It depends how I feel. I might go to the meeting just to get some advice on how crappy I'm feeling from this tonsillectomy, see if anyone else has had it after surgery and what they did to feel better. I am sure it's just a waiting game for it to heal but man its awful.
