Don't be discouraged. It is very normal to going weight after surgery. They pump alot of fluids in you via the IV. It takes a good week to get rid of all that fluid. That week starts after you were discharged. You need to be keeping down more than a sip of water or you will be back in hospital for more fluids. Try drinking 2oz every 15 minutes.
I know complications are frustrating, but be patient you are on a life long journey.

Wish you all the best.

Hi all,

Well, how is everyone today?  Today is church then lunch.  Then, we may go to a Ceili in Raleigh to help support the dance school.  That's about it.

Got my samples of Profect.  Tastes terrible but it is a 29g shot of protein.  I like the little candies that they have.  Same protein but tastes a wee bit better.

Have an awesome day!

Hi all,

The weirdest thing happened this morning.  I was reading an email and then suddenly, I got double vision.  It stayed for about 10 min. then went back to normal.  I guess it's time to get my eyes checked.

Hubby has surgery on Monday.  I am hoping all will go well.  So, I will enjoy today and tomorrow with my sweetie for sure.

Have a great weekend all.

I finally got discharged today (Fri. 9th). I had my surgery on Monday (5th) I developed an infection after surgery and had to be treated with antibiotics. They wanted me to stay another night but I was ready to come home. I missed my kids. They removed a cyst on my ovary while they were in there that was about to rupture. They had to recatherize me because I couldn't pee after surgery. This trauma of the catheter going in and out caused me to pee bright red blood for 3 days. The pain is so horrible once the pain meds wear off. I really need to some reassurance that things will get better. Most upsetting to me is the fact that I gained 11 lbs. back in the hospital. How is that even possible? I haven't been able to keep anything down except for small sips of water, so how could I have gained 11 lbs? I was so proud of my preop weight loss and now it was all for nothing.

I'm so discouraged and almost regretting that I did this because of all these complications.

Hi all,

Today it is raining.  Rain sometimes makes me feel the tension in the sky is being released and the air is getting washed.

Today is payday so I will be running errands after work.  Tomorrow starts hubby's long week off due to surgery on Monday.  I will have to do some serious meal planning.  Normally I cook only two meals a week for him due to his work schedule.  I think I will sit down with him and plan it out.

What are you up to today?

Loretta,

Congratulations on your success! It means that you already are on the losing side and not only that, but I'll bet that you'll do a great job of making the changes necessary to lose the weight and keep it off in the long term.

Wishing you all the best as you embark on the journey of a lifetime!

Hello,

My RNY is only 4 days away.  At this time I am not nervous, but probably will be by Sunday.  I am so ready to do this and get on the losing side.  I had to lose weight before I could have the surgery.  At my last weigh-in I had lost 34 lbs.  I have been on the pre-op 3 week diet that my surgeon requires.  I know that I have lost more weight but do not know how much.  I do not have any scales at home.  I will not get to weigh in until Monday when I go in for my surgery.  I am excited to see how much I have lost!

Is anyone else having their surgery on Monday?

Topic: Thursday Roll Call
Hi all,

I really like my Thursdays.  I can sleep in, get things done, then go to work later.  I get a little more time with hubby too.  Sometimes, I wish he was back on days.  I miss him and my evenings are so lonely.  Yea I know I could try to find something to do but until it stays daylight longer, I don't go out much at night.  Seems like when I do go out, I spend money we don't have. lol

Have a good day all.

Hey,

I hope the job works out for you.  Maybe they will give him a relocation package huh?

Sorry about your experience at your gym. Does the owner know the issues with this front desk person?  Since I work at a gym myself, I know the importance of going out of  your way to make every member feel accepted, supported and understood. I hope you can find a gym you are comfortable with.
