If I had realized how much this surgery has helped me, I would have had it done a long time ago, and I recommend Dr. Chapman without any hesitation.
Well let me see. It is a nice cool morning and I am sitting here enjoying it. Woke up through out the night wondering how things were going to work out. I'm glad I don't have to figure it out all by myself. So I am a little sleepy today. Today has me home again due to no gas in the car. So I will putts around here. Got a good six month extention on my course so I need to tackle the books again today. Just one more Exel assignment and on to Powerpoint. So, I think I will start making myself more productive and knock this sucker out.
Had a nice talk with the new manager and she is so confused. She got a mess to take care of. I will start spending some time at the club next week. At least I am still on the payroll. Just sent a fax last night to the Curves in Warrenton, VA just to see if I get a nibble. Since we may be moving back up to VA, I want to see if I can get work and get a support group going if there isn't one already.
I have to face it. What ever lesson we are NOT learning by going around this same mountain over and over again, I HOPE we GET it this time!
I will miss all of you for the second time. You may be saying, huh? Yea, this is the second time to be down here. Long story.
Have a great day all!
Had an excellent tasting last night. The Host had a phone call to the First Lady last night. A woman of influence. Anyway, got several sales and two bookings! Very happy!
Did my 20 minute express workout. Today I am going to attempt the one with the free weights. No gas in car so it is all day at home unless I take hubby's car to run errands.
What's up with you my quiet friends?
BTW... while I'm really hoping that the NC forum will start becoming the lively, supportive place it once was, you may want to also consider visiting the LightWeight forum. It is very much like the NC forum used to be. It's active and filled with lovely, supportive people.
I hope to see more of you whether it's here or there.
Take care of you!

(((Shannon))),
I can understand how frustrating this all is. I had a surgical complication which caused me to remain in the hospital for a few extra days, delaying the beginning of my own journey. Right now, in the moment, it is all so frustrating, but soon these difficulties will be behind you and your journey will smooth out developing a rhythm all it's own.
One of the things that really helped me then and still does to this day, is to write down 3 things for which I'm grateful. Sometimes, especially, when I'm struggling, I find this helps me see my glass as half full and not focus on the proverbial 'spilt' milk.
Wishing you all the best,
Barbara

I am sitting here with the door open and cool breeze coming in. I really like my early mornings. Everything is new and yesterday's nightmares are gone. I get so frustrated with myself sometimes but like the new day and I can always strive to do better.
Today I call into work to see if the support groups are still going on. Also find out what my real status is. This afternoon I have to facilitate a huge tasting in Raleigh. I hope it goes well. I always get a bit nervous but I do have fun.
When I get home, I can relax and chill and do paperwork lol. What are you up to?
I was so busy applying for jobs I completely forgot about you. :o) Today it is taking mom in law to church then home. Think I might color my hair today. Spend some time with hubby and relax. Oh, yes, do some zumba. I have to keep active.
You?
It is Saturday, finally. I have to wait for the UPS truck to sign for something today. Then tonight, they are starting their summer concert series at the mall so I may go to that tonight. Nice place to hang out. So, just doing some chores today. I have to get back into job hunting but sort of waiting to see what happens with hubby. He has an opportunity in Raleigh. I am hoping that pans out but then again a lateral move to another position within the same company would be ideal. Not sure if I like the VA idea. That is a four and a half hour drive from here and he would be working 12 hour shifts. That would mean two rents and I won't see him much. Oh my. Anyway, life goes on.
How are all of you?
((((Shannon)))),
I understand your frustration and distress, but please understand that while it is known that some people, up to 10%, will have issues with gallbladder stones following weight loss, through surgery or other means, it has been determined that routine gallbladder removal is not recommended and now it is only recommended/done when there is evidence of gallbladder disease at the time of the RNY surgery. It's also actually not uncommon for women to have issues with it following childbirth, which was the case with me. At any rate, removing the diseased gallbladder it is very well managed and treated with laproscopic the removal of the gallbladder and stones. Our gallbladders store bile that acts like a 'detergent' to help our bodies digest the fats that we eat during a 'fatty' meal to help us dissolve and absorb the fat that we eat. That said, it is not considered a necessary organ and many do just fine without it.
I had my gallbladder removed about 10 years prior to my RNY and while no surgery is pleasant experience, not suffering those attacks was definitely worth it. In line with maintaining a healthy weight, I don't eat what would be considered a high fat diet anymore, but honestly after I had my surgery 10 years ago, I was eating a high fat diet and did just fine without my gallbladder. I'm sure that you will not be eating a significantly high fat diet on a routine basis since you have had your surgery and are working to live a leaner, healthier life, but what I'm trying to say is that you are not likely to 'miss' having your gallbladder, with the exception of no longer suffering those horrible attacks. If your experience is like mine and that of many others, you are likely to find the recovery as easy, if not easier than your RNY surgery. If it makes you feel any better, I have not suffered any ill effects from not having my gallbladder; to the contrary, I no longer have that unbelievable pain associated with those darned gallstones.
I wish you all the best and am sure that you'll feel much better after you no longer have to deal with that incredible pain.
Feel better soon,
Barbara
