My husband and I will be moving to the Asheville metro area this fall (Sept time frame). We have been looking at property online and will hit the ground in late June to start the visual check of possible properties.
We are both DS'er's...his surgery was in Dec 2010, mine 5 weeks later in Jan 2011. Both of us have reached goal weight. (both of us are lightweights).
One thing we know we will need is a knowledgeable OR TRAINABLE PCP to help with labs. But until we know which county and which insurance, we don't know who will be in network.
But I just wanted to step in the door and say hi!

What is the story behind one of your scars?
I had thyroid cancer and had to have a total thyroidectomy in October 2012.
What do you "know now" that you wish you "knew then"?
The food you love and turn to may not hurt you at that moment, but it will in the long run.
Have you ever won a prize, if so what was it?
I won 1st place in a karaoke contest, and 1st prize was $100.
What subject do you wish you had paid more attention to in school?
English. I love writing, but I should have paid more attention to grammar and punctuation.
If you could have coffee with someone famous, who would it be?
Oh! Definitely Gustav Schäfer from Tokio Hotel!
What is your favorite thing about your mom?
She's ALWAYS there for me, no matter how grouchy or moody I am.
What song do you love to dance to?
The song "I Know How to Say" by 3OH!3 makes me dance every time I hear it!
What was the worst punishment your parents ever enacted?
The belt. Enough said.
Who was the best boss you ever worked for?
Probably my bosses at the video store where I worked for 2.5 years.
What restaurant do you love even though you know you shouldn't?
Sonic for fast food. Tabeya Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi for an eat-in restaurant!
If you did not need the money what would you do for work?
I'd love to travel with musicians. I don't care what I'd do, I'd just like to travel with them.
If you had an extra room in your house what would you use it for?
We need a lot of work done to our house. We just got new floors in my room and the living area. We need all our electric to be rewired, and we need a drainage system in the front yard. Any amount of rain turns our yard into a muddy swamp!
How would you explain love to somebody who had never heard of it before?
Love is when you care about someone else more than yourself. At least, that's what it is to me.
What is your warmest birthday memory?
Probably the year my friends threw me a HUGE party with almost all my friends there! There were so many people and I felt so loved!
What is a good place to travel, but you would not want to live there?
Australia! I've always wanted to go there. I'd love to move to Germany and have plans to do so in the distant future.
awesome.........
You are on a roll. We I got some sad news today......though i'm approved....I can't have surgery at Wesley long due to some bill from 2007......I have been researching it all day...apparently nothing was billed incorrectly.....so i'm on it....
Though the bill is in collections it's doesn't matter...make sure you have all past due bills paid in the Moses Cone system period.
Good news is that i may have a surgeon at duke who will take me and they are in network.
once i make my payment ( 150.00 deductible, and 450 out of pocket i will have one ) can't wait to pay it on Friday or Monday
that's awesome you don't have a deductible
i called welsey long to have them research my out of pocket with them......
My insurance covered both the NUT visit and psy visit with a copay. Just depends on your coverage.....my insurance the first time covered the psy but not the NUt and I had to pay 125.00 but that was back in 2007.
Oh yeah, if you get Dr Lurery for PSy visit...he is really nice....a little weird, but he knows his stuff.
If I would have used my insurance through my job it would be much more...said considering I work for an insurance company.
I just got a call from my insurance caseworker with BCBSMO and I am approved for my revision surgery.
