Is there any one who has had a panniculectomy with Dr. Schneider in Winston Salem, NC and have before & after pictures I can see?  Or if you had the surgery with another surgeron I would love to see those pics as well.  I am planning for surgery in January 2014.

Thanks,

Lori

Do you know......our founder, Eric Klein, created ObesityHelp back in 1998 and we've been the source of information, support and education for bariatrics since that time.

Do you know.....that ObesityHelp organized and hosted the first ever National Conference for pre-ops, post-ops, and individuals considering weight loss surgery?

Please join us as we celebrate our history with the OH community of 65 events in 26 states since 2004, and our 2013 Event on October 4-5, 2013 in Anaheim, California!!

Thanks for the encouragement Barbara.  Where can I find info to make the comparison.  I am thinking of going to Duke Durham.  Were you pleased?

Congratulations! I had my surgery through Duke Durham. Duke Raleigh wasn't open then. I really like the program at Duke Raleigh. If you want something to compare them to, you might also want to check out the programs through WakeMed and Rex as well. Even if you decide to use Duke Raleigh, I think that you get different perspectives from the various programs. You also can see if they vary how the approach things. All of these programs are ASMS Centers of Excellence, so I don't think that you can go wrong with any of them.

I'm not sure where you live. I'm in Raleigh and there are some consignment stores that welcome plus size clothing. If you are going to place your items with a consignment store, I'd check to see what percentage of their stock is plus size and what type of response they receive from their plus size consigned items so that you can gauge what you may reap from them. You may also want to see if there is a place such as a 'Career Closet' that might put the clothing to good use.

Hi Missy,

I host support group meetings in North Raleigh. We meet on the first Saturday of each month and Thursday evenings. You can get information about upcoming meetings at www.meetup.com/nc-wls. You are welcome to attend any meeting I host; do not worry if you do not meet the 'demographic' for a particular meeting. We all have much more in common than our differences.

You are also welcome to contact me directly and I'll be glad to meet you for coffee sometime.

Congratulations on your success! Keep up the good work.

Regards,

Barbara

Its been 6 years since my surgery.  I took all mine to a local consignment shop where you make money if they sell it and I turned around and used the money to buy me more clothes.....
