I went for my first appt. with Dr Torquati on 8-27-13.  Saw nutritionist and psych and had labs drawn.  Got my letter today from BC&BS......Accepted!   I recognized he was organized to a tee, but never dreamed it would go this fast.

Well let me just say Dr Torquati is my man, but I will let you borrow him haha. I had him as my surgeon almost 4 years ago and am very happy with my results!!!!!!

I wish you all the best

I am taking this slowly, but surely.  Selected Dr. Torquati at Duke for WLS.  My first appt. was this week...wow were they organized.   On this one day, I completed my appt. with the surgeon, labs, psych. consult, and nutrition consult.  I chose to wait on my EKG and chest xray.  I was seen either a little early or on time for each appointment, and found the staff to be very professional and friendly. The doctor was a very good listener and did not seem rushed or impatient.  I have to see cardio. and hematology before we can progress further, but so far ......its all good!

I know that we have members that have had revisions, but I don't recall if the revisions were from an RNY to a DS. I do believe that Duke has surgeons with experience doing revisions from an RNY to DS. I know that Dr. Sudan is very experienced

Have any of your people have a RNY to DS by Dr. Sudan, or does he perform them at all? My initial consultation is scheduled for 9/12.
