OT: Seymour Air Force Base

Hello Everyone!! My Son attends the U.S.Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs Colorado and was just notified that he will be sent to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina for a 3 week training course in July...Anyone out there know about this place and the surrounding area??? My niece and her hubby were stationed there for several years. I enjoyed visiting. Goldsboro is a nice area.

I live about 15 miles from the base - what'cha wanna know girl ! Goldsboro is ok - just depends on what you are looking for as far as information. I'll be glad to tell you anything you want to know that I know. Email me ! Lisa

Not much there. It does have restaurants, a WalMart and is just small town living with a military base. There are a few extras in the area due to the military traffic, but you dont have to worry about freeways or traffic jams. The neighboring town? LaGrange and Kenly. No offense, but you can often smell both before you get there. The pig farm. UUUghhh...dont let a good wind blow!!! But the Sandpiper restaurant in LaGrange has great seafood!!! No way you can eat all of that food, without surgery! He will be safe there. Crime is there, just like everywhere else, but it is a good safe place. Wish you well Nia

I live in Goldsboro and my dh is retired from the Air Force. We chose to stay here !! I love it here !! It is smaller...but we are really growing !!! Getting a Starbucks very soon !! LOL A great place to live and raise a family !! We moved her from San Antonio....somewhat of a culture shock, but Goldsboro grows on you !!! VERY friendly people !!
