Lapband BCBS?

Hello, I already have the Lapband and now we are going to have BCBS of NC and Dr. Enochs office in Raleigh said they dont cover the Lapband. Has anyone here in NC had the Lapband surgery with BCBS?? I need follow up care and Im so nervous now, I cant afford this out of pocket. Thank you, Erica

Same thing happened to me. I had UHC and went to BCBS NC and now I have no coverage. UGH... But it's ok for me because I now work for the DR. I do know BCBS is going to review it again come in Aug. We need to write the head of BCBS NC because he is anti-band..I want to tell someone to show them that is does work. Good Luck and maybe things will change. Now you know there is something I haven't thought of is they don't cover the band itself and the fills don't have CPT codes so could they cover them? Again GOOD LUCK.
