Hello everyone. I have been researching WLS for about 3 years now. I have gone to the seminar, had my pchy-test, TSH (blood test), physical, EKG, cardiologist appt, nutritionist appt, everything that BCBS of NC required me to do. Anyway, my family doctor does not take blood pressure or weights on a normal doctors visit. My family doctor only has 3 years of documents weights for me. She wrote me a referral letter and sent in the 3 weights that she has (in the past 5 years) BCBS said they would accept her letter in lue of the 5 years weights. Well, I got a call yesterday from my surgeons office that BCBS called and said everything was a go for my surgery except they will need those 5 years of doc. weights. We do not have them. ALSO, my cardiologist wrote a referral letter saying he felt it in my best interest to have WLS.... I have some mile heart problems and abnormal EKG's, but he gave me clearence to have the surgery. OH WELL< to make a long story shorter.... they still want 5 years weights. Has anyone ever had this problem and how did you over come it? Any suggestions? I reallt thought I would have been approved by now..... NO I have not been denied.... STILL PENDING.... since January. Please help. I also have some artiristis, major back problems, acid reflux, gallbladder troubles, leg & knee pain all the time.... doctor says this is all due to been overweight.
