There are many things to do in Greensboro and NC in general. I was born and grew up in Greensboro. First there's the Natural Science Museum and Battle Ground which are absolutely wonderful. The Natural Science Museum has all kinds of animals and fossils and rocks and other exhibits as well as 2 ponds that you can rent paddle boats at. You can picnic there. It also has a planatarium. Battle Ground which is on the same property is an historic area where the battle of General Greene was fought - hence Greensboro. At any rate, fruther up the road is a lake, I believe it is Lake Jeanette if you like boating or fishing. Then there is the water park off of Holden Rd. There is an Historical Museum in downtown Greensboro as well as The Bats baseball team that plays in downtown Greensboro. There is a museum for children. There are great bicycle trails for those who like to bike or walk. There is a support group for WLS at Wesley Long Hospital and they will be glad to give you the times, their number escapes me as I live in Woodleaf, NC now. Of course there is a great college in Greensboro as well. Concerts both classical and the big acts come there. The Southern Living Shows and Christmas Shows. The street festivals. Greensboro is just full of wonderful, exciting things to do if you want to do them! Of course the coast is just 4 or 5 hours away with the aquariums and the beaches, etc. Then there is the NC Zoo just down the road from Greensboro, at most an hours drive. If you're into NASCAR go to Charlotte and Lowes Motor Speedway - guarantee you a good time. Then the Carolina Panthers also play in Charlotte. (Actually the speedway is closer to Concord). Now, if you like to ski, let's not forget the NC mountains. Great for one day trips or camping trips. There is Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Tweetsie Railroad, etc. This area and the entire state have a lot to offer it's own citizens. Get out and enjoy! And again, contact Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro for your support group. Susan

Hi Howard, I live in Haw River, NC, not far from Greensboro. I don't know where McLeansville is, however, as I recently moved up here from Sanford, NC, with a job transfer. I am exit 154 off of I-40/85. Maybe we could start a support group! Hey I don't tell many people this down here... but I was raised up in CT! So we will both be transplanted X-yankees LOL. Blessings, Diane
