Will we ever be able to eat light ice cream or frozen yogurts?

I eat sugar free frozen yogurt from TCBY. Its really good. I haven't had a problem with it, but I only eat about 1/2 cup at a time. I did try some sugar free light ice cream from the grocery store and it sort of made me sick. I'm 9 weeks post op. Sandi

I'm 7-1/2 months out and last weekend my mom was in town for the holiday and we went to Cold Stone Creamery. They have something called Sinless Sweet Cream and it says it is made with Splenda. What they DON'T put on the label in the store is that the smallest container (kid's portion...about 1/2 cup) has 18 grams of sugar alcohol in it. I didn't know this, ate just about the whole thing and got so sick I had to go to bed for about 3 hours.

Thanks for the heads-up! We have one near us and I'm sure I would have wandered in there sometime this summer with the kids and made the same mistake!!!! Nancy

Hey! I am now 8 months out and I can eat the sf/ff with splenda ice cream products. But you still have to be careful and watch for sugar alcohols. Blue Bunny makes the ice cream and he popcicles like this. Nancy
