New to NC and interested in insurance issues

Im moving to nc and having my surgery there after having been schedule in md and changing my mind due to a horrible staff... in md i was denied coverage because of a small business. in nc i would be getting individual coverage..anyone aware of any problems with exclusions with this or a good company other then bcbs?

I believe with individual coverage they do not cover the procedure (but I could be wrong!). I use to work for another insurance carrier here in NC and back at the end of 2004 almost all the carriers stopped making it a covered benefit. It's up to the individual companies to decide if they want to allow the benefit. Also, BCBS is going to be changing their criteria for WLS in August. I got this information from NCDOI.
