preapproval from medicaid.

I'm considering gastric bypass surgery and am on medicaid. I looked over the info and I am worried about providing 2 years of dieting that I have to prove. I rarely stay on a diet for more than a few weeks and I certainly don't have two years of documentation. Has anyone hear had surgery with medicaid ins? How hard was it to get approved? Thanks in advance.

I would contact a couple of Bariatric surgery practices in your area and talk with their insurance coordinators. They will have experience with how the two year weight loss attempt has to be documented.
