Hi and welcome to the area.  Rocky Mount (at Nash General Hospital) has a meeting the first Monday night of each month and Roanoke Rapids has just started one on the last Thursday night of each month at the Halifax HealthLinks at the mall in Roanoke Rapids.  If you are interested in more information, let me know.  Janice

Welcome to NC!  I've heard of Scotland Neck, does that count?  :)

Sorry I can't help with the support group.  Maybe someone else will chime in.

Mrs. Millan,

Congratulations on your successful VSG surgery and your resulting loss of 89 lbs so far. You may want to find a local bariatric surgeon can that support your long term care. Most surgeons have a support group, so that you can likely attend the support group of which ever surgeon's program you join. Remember that you will need long term follow up care with another local surgeon if you have moved away from your original surgeon. If you cannot find a local support group, you may want to do what I have done and start your own peer to peer support group.

Wishing you all the best and continued success,

Barbara

Get out of town!! I live in Hobgood, just 8 miles up the road!! I have to go to Scotland Neck or Tarboro just to get groceries etc. I was actually born in Scotland Neck, back when they had a hosp. that could handle that!! I spent my entire childhood there.

How in the world did you end up In S.N.? And why in the world would you come? And from Ca too? I went to Ca for about 2 1/2 months, and could've stayed for all I cared!! Are you here for work? Possibly Sylvan Heights? Just guessing, that's the only reason I can think of anyone wanting to be here if that's your field.

Definately "hit me up!" I am only about 2 months out, but it would be nice to be around other post-ops. Only, I don't really let people see me right now because I know them and I'd rather let it be in about 40 more lbs!! Anyway, nice to sort of meet you!!

I only strive to be, the kind of person my dogs think I am!

Of the choices we are given, it's no choice at all....
