Got a date for surgery

Next Monday.  Yep.  That soon.  I went in and the scheduler lady said, "What about next Monday?"  I sat there sort of stunned.  I couldn't think of a single reason why it wouldn't work.  So I guess next Monday it is. 

I'm on the liver shrinking diet until the surgery--protein powder in 6oz of skim milk 4x/day.  The doctor didn't seem to think that another week on the diet would make much of a difference.

I've got a million things to do between now and Monday! 

I am so happy for you. Can you tell me how long after all your pre-op testing and lab work was done did it take to get a date lined up? I got finish finsihed with all the lab work and got clear by the Gast. last Thursday. And had my last sleep study Sat. so hopefully it might been fairly soon I hear something back.....Congrates on your date... wish you the best. Keep in touch and updated.

Here is how it went for me:

- The last thing to do was to get my CPAP machine.  I got it on 4/25 and called the doctor's office.

- They submitted everything to insurance on 4/26.

- I was approved by insurance for surgery on 4/27.

- The doctor's office called on 4/27 and setup the appointment for yesterday, 5/3.

- The surgery is scheduled for 5/9.

For me, it took about a week for them to get the info from the sleep study back.  Then I had to go in and do a titration.  It took 2 weeks to get an appointment and then another week to get the test and machine.  This was clearly the hardest part to schedule and get completed.

Yep I know what you mean about the sleep study. 4/30 was my sencond over night study, I had to go back and sleep with the CPAP machine on that time. And actually after I responded to your post I got a phone call from them stating they had my results and that he was sending my paperwork to a medical supply company that would be contacting me within the next couple of days for me to go by and get my machine. So maybe after I get it I will call the doctors office to let them know. And maybe Mine will go as fast yours has went. Man I am ready for some help....Thanks for the info. Wishing you well , Tommy

Congrats!  Which surgery are you having, if you don't mind answering? 

And I'm jealous, they told me there wasn't anything available on 5/9.  Good luck on the protien diet.  He told me to eat low carbs the next two weeks.  I'm thinking about going all protein next week if I can stand it. 

I'm having the RNY.  Do you have Dr. Enochs as well?  I think I probably got the last surgery slot of the day.  I certainly can't imagine them doing surgery much past late afternoon.

The protein powder isn't too bad.  I got the chocolate version.  I'm not really too hungry but I'm empty, if that makes any sense.
