Waiting on Insurance

I got a call this morning from my case worker.  She has everything together and sent it all off to insurance this morning.  Keep your fingers crossed for me.  She said I should hear something back within a week.

It really should be quick.  I have the state BCBS plan.  They submitted Thursday afternoon and I got a call Tuesday morning that I had been approved.  Went for the follow up with Dr. Enochs and Thursday and they scheduled me the same day.  The only advice I will give you is ehn they call to make your follow up with Dr. Enochs, get as early an appointment as possible.  My appointment was at 2:15 and I couldn't schedule a surgery time that day becuase I didn't get to meet with the scheduler until after 6 and the people at Rex had already left for the day.

I already got the call.  I've been approved!  Less than 24 hours for approval.  Guess they think I really need this surgery. 

The only appointment they had available was at 2:25.  I guess I'll be stuck like you were.  Did you have to go back and schedule a date or did you do it over the phone? 

They only do the surgeries on Monday's so I picked a Monday and they called me the next day with the tiem for the surgery.  She didn't think the date I picked would be aproblem and it wasn't, but you may have better luck and not get stuck waiting like I did.  Good Luck!!!

How long do you have to be on the diet before the surgery?  I've got two really important things happening in June and I don't want to mess up either one of them with my being in the hospital or newly recovering.

I was on it for three weeks, but it will depend on when you schedule your surgery.

OMG  ...you found out so quickly.  You were lucky.  Maybe you will be joining me on 5/16.

That would be wonderful!  But I think my doc requires three weeks of a liquid diet before surgery.  The 16th would work out great with my plans.  I've got two very important things in June.  If I can't get the surgery in before the 23rd then I'm going to have to wait until July.
