Help Me Please, I am so desperate

I am an overweight (very) person and I know I need to loose weight but I've not taken the step to have any type of surgery done.  Right now I am just having issues with trying to find a doctor who will take an active interest in me and the pain and agony I am going thru right now.  I hurt from the top of my body down to my toes.  I can't shop anymore, I can't walk because my back pain is so bad.  None of the doctors I see will refer me to any kind of specialist just tell me it's my weight.  One told me until my arms and legs started going numb they would not refer me elsewhere.  Well they have but now they say it's because of my meds.  I have gone from one doctor to another trying to find help and they center on my weight.  My mother has fibromyalgia(?) I inquire about that....they say maybe but still no nothing.  I have psoriasis...could it be psoriatic arthritis...nothing.  Can anyone recommended a caring, compassionate doctor in the Sampson/Cumberland/Johnston/Harnett/Wake County area.  I am so desperate.  I have two beautiful children I want to be able to take to the zoo and be able to walk.

I am sorry you are having such issues. I have always been blessed with fabulous doctors. If you are willing to travel a bit further my parents see Dr Perry in Elizabeth city and they love him. I just moved from VA so all my docs are still there. As far as weight loss goes, find the top rated Bariatric team in your area and go to a seminar. Yu will get to the zoo.

Dr. Nicole Price in Durham is a fantastic primary care doctor! If you're looking for a weight loss center, I would highly recommend Duke! I will be praying for you, Elizabeth!

Have you tried Dr. Stewart in Coats?  I have never had any problems with him and he is very compassionate.

I'm in Raleigh and have had the pleasure of having 2 primary care Dr's that are very caring. Dr. Corey Musselman in Cary NC and Dr. David Becker in Raleigh NC. Both are thoughtful and compasionate.

Hi, Elizabeth, sorry to hear how you are feeling. Not sure if you are searching for a primary care doctor or prospective surgeon for wls. My pc doctor is in Dunn, but I don't think she's taking new patients, Jennifer Seddon. My wls surgeon is Dr. Davidson in Fayetteville at Village Surgical Associates...he also comes to the Erwin office!
