They cancelled my monday surgery,,,,
So I just get home from some last minute shopping and my son's basketball tournament and I have a voicemail saying that my doc is cancelling all of his surgeries on Monday because he is having back problems. Now I clearly want him and me to be at 100% when he operates but I thought the hell of the last few weeks was over and here we go again. I have no idea when they will reschedule and I know this was one of the few dates before the end of the year....to top it all off my husband was finally able to get a teaching position after about 8 months of living here and started last week and he had to request the day off when he started and its too late to cancel the sub....You know what I want to do is to eat everything in site since I have been on this liquid diet and now I don't know what to do because I am not sure when my surgery will happen...
My surgery was postponed for me and I had to wait an additional 7 weeks before I actually got it done. I remember the disappointment I felt and how hard it was to stay the course for the additional time. I did discontinue the two week diet and resumed it again when I got my new date set. But it was hard to continue to eat 'sensibly' and I did slip a few times before resuming the presurgery diet. What I am hoping for you to see is that this is just a bump in the road and in a couple of years the few extra weeks you may have to wait to get started will become less and less important. Delays can and do happen but they aren't the worse thing that can happen to anyone. Just feels that way at the time. Good luck.
