5 day pouch test?
Here's a link to information about the 5 day pouch test. It can be difficult to do, but a number of people have done it and have found it to be helpful to them.
Generally people do the pouch test if they think that they have a problem with their pouch or if they are off track and want a way to get back on track. I doubt that there is a 'problem' with your pouch, but you may not be 'leveraging' your tool either. When I experienced some regain a couple of years ago I found that I wasn't 'following' the rules of the pouch so I was working around it. When I got back to the rules, to be honest, the weight that I had regained came off and it wasn't a painful or difficult thing to do. I made sure that I wasn't drinking with meals, I was loading with 4 to 6 ounces of lean protein anytime I ate, I measured and logged what I ate... I needed to do that for accountability, so that I would really know what I was eating and how much, otherwise I could 'fool' myself into thinking I wasn't consuming as much as I was. At any rate, this is not nearly as difficult as the 5 day pouch test and for me it was much, much more effective because it was requiring me to leverage my tool, but didn't make me diet or give up things I like to have. My rule is that if I want something that is higher fat or carb, then I can have it after I 'take care of business' and that means to have my protein first.
Wishing you all the best, no matter how you handle it.
