Needing support... sort of off topic, sort of on...

As many of you know, to say that this has been a tumultuous year for my family is a major understatement. My husband lost his job in January of 09. In January 2010 we got a call indicating that my FIL who was the primary caregiver for my invalid MIL was ill and needed care. I flew to CA to care for him and we discovered he was dying of metastatic lung and liver cancer. He passed away in hospice in February. I stay in CA following my FILs passing to help care for my invalid MIL. My mother who had lived with me here in NC had returned to CA and there were significant strains between my siblings and myself that precluded my ability to see my mother often while I was in CA. My mother passed away in late March. I flew back to NC in April and this summer we lost the home we had in with my mother. The difficult move was made more difficult because of the actions of my siblings and that their actions further tainted what should have been a joyous occasion; the marriage of our second son. Things seemed to start to get better when my husband was able to get a contract job, but that position was unexpected cut short. We have no reserves left and now no income. He is looking everywhere for anything. So far, not much at all.

All of this stress is really impacting us from every direction including eating... we are doing all that we can to try eat well, but that too is a struggle. I'm struggling to eat enough and keep my weight up. Ben is struggling to not over eat and keep his weight down.

For those who believe in prayer, please do.

Thanks for giving me a safe place to 'talk'...

I will definately keep you in my prayers!  I am so sorry that you are going through this! I wish that I could be of some sort of finacial support but all I have to offer is prayers!!! I will pray for your strength as my friends have done for me in the past 4 years as I have been having a hard time since the loss of my mother. And those prayers have worked and still working for me! I can only imagine what you are going through!

Sheila,

I certainly was not asking for ANY financial support. Prayers and friendship are what will help us through this time. With those, hopefully the financial aspects of this trail will work itself out.

Thank you again for your thoughtful support and prayers.

Oh I know you weren't asking for any financial support... I hope you didn't take that the wrong way. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way, but that was not my intent. You have been so helpful I just wish I could be of some help financially, that's all. I know things will work themselves out.

Barbara,

I know where you are coming from...although not to the same degree.  My husband also lost his job in 09.  He found a job a few months later but for considerably less pay.  Over a year later he's still there and things are tough.  I am sorry for the loss of your mother and FIL.  Family "drama" that has ensued must be terribly hard.

All I know is that things HAVE to get better.  Will keep you and yours in my prayers!

Thanks Melissa,

I'm sure that they will get better, I just hope that they do in time... for all of us. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

I hope I'll see you at one of the support group meetings soon.

Oh Barb, I'm so sorry you are going through all of this.  You are definitely in my thoughts.  I will see you on Saturday at the meeting, but I'd love to get together for coffee sometime as well.  Shoot me an email if you'd be up for that.

Warmly,
Pamela

Hi Pamela,

As long as it's somewhere 'cheap' we can do it. As you know, my schedule is relatively open, so let me know what works for you.
