Hi everyone first I would like to say thanks for at least looking at my post. If you answer hug and smooches to you! Okay my revision day is approaching next Friday. I'm saying bye bye  to the Lap Band and HELLO to the RNY! No MORE DRAMA, I pray! But my question is will I be able to use the gummy multi-vitamins and gummy calcium with d that I have been using or will I have to purchase something else?

My doctor said no to gummies. I had to purchase chewables. I got flintstones from Wal-mart.

Good Luck!

Dear Princess,

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. Please check with your Dr about the supplementation that they would like you to use. Generally speaking the gummy vitamins that are available are not nutritionally complete and/or balanced enough to support the needs of malabsorptive bariatric patients. During the first few weeks post op, you may need to use a chewable or liquid form, but soon you should be able to use something that can swallow. AndreaU has booklet that she has created that gives a great deal of information on the subject. You may also want to look up someone known as 'VitaLady'. Personally, I don't use 'bariatric' specific vitamin compounds, but I do make sure to use quality vitamins.

Wishing you all the best with your revision.

Regards,
