LOOKING FOR A WLS FRIENDLY PCP

Can anyone recommend a weight loss friendly pcp or internist who can recommend me for the gastric sleeve. My pcp is not friendly towards the surgery and I really need to find someone in the Charlotte, NC area who can help me get started.

I absolutely LOVE my PCP. Her name is Anne Barnard, and she's with Mecklenburg Medical Group. Her office is in downtown Charlotte in the BB&T building. She is definitely pro WLS. She wrote me a letter of recommendation when I had my 1st surgery back in 2003, and she was definitely all for my revision surgery I had last November. I can't tell you specifically about the Gastric Sleeve, but I had the RNY in 2003 then was converted to a distal RNY last November. Very supportive! She also knows about the DS. I mention that because some Primary Care doctors don't seem to know about the DS. So my guess is if she knows about the DS, she'll know about the sleeve. It won't hurt for you to have a consultation with her. Let me know if you have more questions.

Ronald Pollack in Harrisburg, NC or Douglas Kelling in Concord, NC.  Dr. Pollack is a PCP (mine) and Dr. Kelling is an internist.  Dr. Kelling is VERY familiar with the preop/postop care of the bariatric patient and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Jon Pirello in Charlotte does the sleeve, and Dr. Roc Bauman in Concord also does it but Dr. Pirello has more experience with that particular procedure.
