Two huge goals for me!!

I had my first visit with my primary care physician today since surgery.

First.. about 5 days after surgery I had to stop taking my high blood pressure pills because the crushed pill mixed with anything was making me throw up... so i just kinda took myself off the medicine.

Well.. when I went to see the surgeon at 2 weeks Post-Op they said my pressure was still a little high, but it wasnt horrible, and that I needed to follow up with my PCP.

When I went in today.... my Blood Pressure was 128/82. The doctor was so surprised, she checked again with the manual cuff.. this time it was 110/82!!

So........ they officially discontinued my blood pressure medicine!

That is one awesome goal that I am so proud to have reached!! And only 3 weeks in!

And another good note... I measured yesterday....    I've lost 18 inches!!

Wow that is really awesome.  My doctor still hasn't taken me off the high blood pressure medicine.  I'm 6 weeks out.  Hopefully, at my next visit.  You keep up the good work.

It's good that you no longer need your B/P meds. But I just want to tell everyone *****ads this that suddenly stopping B/P needs is a major NO, NO. It can cause rebound Hypertension where your B/P shots up to dangerous levels which can cause a Stroke or Heart Attack.

I know someone who stopped his meds suddenly because of side effects it was causing. It was a weekend so he thought I will just stop it taking it until I can talk to the doctor on Monday. He had a stroke, and had to go through rehab and now is no longer able to work. He is only in his early 30's.
