Travel after RNY
Pajejo,
How far post op are you? That tends to make some difference on why types of things you can eat. You may want to take some things like water packed albacore tuna with you. This will allow you to have some dense protein. As far as things to eat while you are out of the country, I would call Patrick or Liz and let them know where you are going, how long you'll be gone and ask them to help you develop a plan. If you are eating out, I'd probably try to have shrimp or flaky fish most of the time, unless you already know that you can do well with things like slow cooked beef and pork dishes. Generally, I would look for fish or slow-cooked, braised types of dishes. I think I'd also google the area that you will be travel to and see about getting some ideas of restaurants in area and the types of things that they offer. Maybe armed with that information and talking with Patrick or Liz, you can get some ideas. I'd also see about getting some protein powder based drinks to have on hand for emergency back up, but wouldn't want to 'rely' on them.
You may also want to cross post this question to the RNY, Main and Nutrition forums to see if you get more responses as you cast a wider net.
I hope you are really able to enjoy your trip.
