Monday Check In

I guess I should have named this post Monday Morning Madness. Mine has started like a whirlwind - I couldn't find my car keys. I was late for work. UGGHHH... Time to take a deep breath and get myself refocused.

My scales have moved recently - UP!!!!!!!!!! I've picked up 5 lbs in the last month and it's really not making me a pleasant person to be around. So it's with a new found sense of urgency that I recommitt to the BASICS of weight loss surgery. Protein First, Plenty of Water and daily exercise. With the exception of my 2 large morning coffees (I'm going to cut back to one smaller cup) I'm completely on track for the day. So my plan for the day looks like this:

wake Up: Large Coffee
Commute: Large Coffee
Breakfast: Egg Beaters w/ cheese, salsa & a dollop of fage
Lunch: Chicken Salad & a handful of whole wheat crakers
Snack : Celery w/ peanut butter
Dinner: Meatloaf w/ steamed vegetables
Late night snack: Protein Pistachio Pudding

While the meatloaf is cooking I'm going to get my walk in. 30 minutes again today in the park. Yesterday my 30 minute walk ended up being 1.6 miles so hopefully today I'll cover a bit more territory in the same time period. I think it's time to load a new play list on my MP3 player and push myself at a little bit higher pace.

So what's everybody doing these days? anything yall want to talk about? I'm here to listen if nothing else.....

((((Iris)))),

I'm sorry that you day started so roughly and hope it smooths out.

I think that the fact that you are recognizing the need for change and are making them is great. This is a marathon and those who are successful in the long run do trip and fall, but they do what you are doing. They get up, dust themselves off and keep going. Success is not about how fast you get there; it's having the drive, determination and focus to keep going. So, do what you are doing and keep going.

My life continues to be a soap opera and I'll spare you all the details. I find that I'm also struggling to do what I need to do to take care of myself, but that said, I am trying and for now that is the best I can do.

Iris - thanks for the update.

I am want to post more here so I might as well start now.

I am a little bummed at myself for losing track of when the support group meetings are scheduled.  I wanted to go to the one on Saturday but it fell off my radar.  I am feeling I need support  to continue doing well on this journey.    Also, I need time with other adults and the meeting would have been a great way to fulfill this need.

Today, I am trying to get all my supplements and medications in.  I am also working on getting my protein in.  For exercise, I will go swimming one last time for the season with my daughter.  The pool will be closing later this week and today is the only day I know I can get there.

I let you know if I get to the pool today!
