Just rec'd a call about a 650+ gentleman that has had a very difficult fall that included him being immobilized in the floor of his home for five hours, medical response cutting through the door, firemen with plywood, etc.... to get him out. He is currently hospitalized in Brunswick County here in NC. Everyone is looking for a long term care facility that works with the morbidly obese. Brrokhave in NY only allows NY state residents.  Any insight of nursing homes or long term care facilities that could offer care for the gentleman? I was asked and didn't know but advised I would do a little research... Breaks my heart to know that there aren't any resources available for a man in such a desperate situation. :((

Thanks,
Candice

Here's a thought---contact Johnston Ambulance Service or another regional provider that has bariatric transport capabilities... they will know where they transport bariatric folks too... I know of one place in Durham... it used to be called Magnolia Gardens.

I think there is a center for the super morbidly obese similar to Brookhaven in Andover, Ohio......I don't know the name of it, but I'm sure you could google it....
