Thoughts

I have had a busy weekend and also went to my Aunts funeral on Sunday.
I saw family I had not seen for many years due to divorce and hurt feelings.
Besides all that I was glad to go to the service and say good bye to a lady who gave me lots of love and nurturing when I was young.
My Aunt gave me my passion for cooking.
I asked my cousin if I could have an apron of my aunts or cookbook.
My cousin is going to be sending me Dot's Fanny May cookbook.
After the service the family drove to an isolated cemetary in the woods a few miles from the church.
The family placed her ashes beside her husband who had died a few years ago.
Each family member placed shovels of dirt where we placed her ashes.
Then the family had a bag of items Dot loved to collect such as shells and crystals.
The grandchildren places these objects around the headstone.
I was blown away having no idea Dot collected things like this because I am always collecting items like this.

Next subject that has been on my mind.
My friend who works with me told me that she knows a person who had WLS she got down to 130.
What my friend has been told is this person is back up to 400lbs.
I dont get it!!!
I had RNY and I know there are different types of wls but come on gaining that much weight back I personally dont see how.
I am 3 years out and to this day my head will say "you can eat 2 eggs my pouch says no way no how.
As far as I am concerned my pouch is functioning just like it should.

Also I am trying to come up with some savory breakfast ideas sweet is not appealing at all.
Most mornings I will have plain soy milk and my protein powder which only has one gram of sugar.
Then some mornings I will have 1/2 pack of grits 1 slice cheese and i egg.
Thinking about checking Eggface's page for savory ideas.
Any ideas please send this way.

On my way to go see my mom go to the store and come home and do my bike and weights.
BTW I lost hundreds of my music files OMG I almost freaked big time LOL
Thanks to a flash drive I have restored many of what I lost.

Annie,

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved aunt. I'm glad that you were able to see some of your family and that you will be getting something of hers that will keep her close to you.

It is most likely that the person that gained back so much is not leading with lean protein and is indulging in slider and/or crunchy foods that are high carb. That kind of weight regain is doable, but honestly it normally happens for people that are not active in support groups and don't work to make the lifestyle changes that go along with success. You are not in that category, so I wouldn't worry.

You might try doing some savory egg/ricotta/lean sausage dishes. You can do them ahead in muffin tins and just warm the up for a quick breakfast,  if you like.  You can just use enough egg to bind the other stuff together since eggs don't sit too well for you. CookingLight.com has some wonderful recipes that you can alter to work for you. I hope that helps.

Barb,
Thanks so much for your input and ideas on savory breakfast ideas.

Yes I will miss my Aunt even though we just made contact again after many years but I am so grateful I was able to vist her at Christmas time and I made lunch for her it was a good visit and I made it a point to call her every month.
I enjoyed sending her little gifts through the year to remind her I loved her.

As for people who fall prey to bad carbs yes I could see that could cause weight gain.
I already know chips could be a down fall for me I reconize this so I will limit the intake of things like that.
Instead of buying  regular bag of chips I buy a small bag.
I dont do that often.
If I have a dinner party and have food like that I always send home the leftovers with my guest.
As for dessert do not worry about it at all in fact at a dinner I had two weeks ago my guest brought a dutch apple pie.
I served evryone who wanted some and I did not have even a bite.
I sent the rest home with my guest.

So here I sit at 5pm been on the go most of the afternoon and All I have had to eat was my soy shake and coffee.
I dont like to do this and I'm gong to eat in a few minutes the funny thing about all of it I am not hungrey but I am aware I need to eat and get my fluids in.
